I LOVE THE RAIN

I love the rain. I love when raindrops lavishly create a melody, a music that lulls you to sleep. And as you wake up in the morning, you will see dewdrops that play and flicker along with the rays of the sun.

I love the rain. I love when drizzles paint the buildings, roof tops, ground and other surfaces with an abstract art that only you can define. It helps your brain cells exercise its creativity.

I love the rain. I love when you will just stay indoors and spend the whole time with your family, sharing stories and laugh trips, or doing your quiet time. It is also an opportunity to relax and chill with cool music while drinking hot chocolate with some chocolate chip cookies on the side.

I love the rain. I love when you go out and play. You ‘run, pursue and enjoy’ life as a precious gift given to you. After all being childlike for sometime is not bad.

But most of all, I love the rain because it speaks blessings for everyone. It is a present from up above. He banners us with grace and love. He waters the plants for them to grow and bear fruit. He gives water to drink for those who are thirsty. He cleanses our body and soul with his water.

For me, the rain/water symbolizes the Word of GOD. We are like a plant, which needs to be grounded by God’s word to grow and have a direction. We need a light to elude obscurities and have a safe path towards the kingdom of God (Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path Psalm 119:105). And as we grow, we spread the gospel and bear fruit according to God’s will and plans. The fruits could be our own children, to whom we train as young as they are to live their life of having a relationship with God deep down the core (Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it Proverbs 22:6). Or to our brothers and sisters in Christ (For whoever does the will of my Father in heaven is my brother and sister and mother Matthew 12:50), for they must be baptized in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Moreover, we must follow what the Lord commanded his disciples, to teach them to obey everything what God has commanded them (Matthew 28:19, 20).

Moreover, only God’s ‘water’ can quench the great thirst experienced by anyone. It is the thirst for forgiveness. We repent and are baptized, renewing our lives, be cleanse form sinful nature. It is by grace of God we are saved. It is when he generously poured out through Jesus Christ, our savior, that we became heir of having the hope to eternal life (Titus 3:6, 7). As the blood of Christ quenched our thirst, we find a familiar foothold, the caress of our Father.

Now, isn’t lovely when you hear the sound of the rain? It reminds me of how big the love of GOD for me. Do you want to know how big it is? READ your BIBLE and start loving the rain more than just a simple rain.

  1. Well said. Let us go to the Water of Life that our thirst may be quenched. Yet the paradox of that is as we have tasted that Water we will greater pant for it, like a dear panteth for streams of water.

It is interesting to note that from the speared side of the Lord Christ Jesus, both water and blood flowed.

"E'er since by faith I saw the stream
    Thy flowing wounds supply
Redeeming blood has been my theme
and shall be till I die."
