WATER.

Water depicts the mainstream of our hearts. Sometimes, it is serene and still. Sometimes it is fiercely in rage. Sometimes, it denotes blissful countenance and sometimes it shows dejected with a melancholic gushing sound. However, most of the time it shows the fragility and it is easily shaken. Just as the wind blows it will be troubled, disturbed and the like. It will be on disarray, creating waves of plight.

Just like us, we tend to be easily disturbed and troubled. Moreover, our thoughts black-out and became empty leaving with the aftermath of relying most of the time with the strength of others hence putting our trust with the works of men. We forget the unchanging strength, God is giving openhanded. The strength that remains and the kind of strength we need to surpass such shaking. We just have to hold on with the strength that could be found in our hearts. The strength that is unrelenting and unchanging. We have a living God, thus our God will never leave you nor forsake you. Just remain in Him as he remains in you. He should be the strength that resides in our hearts. (Psalm 28:7 The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and I am helped)

Be like a stream whose strength can be shaken amidst the strength of the works of man yet still and unyielding holding onto a stronghold with firm faith and trust in God.

CATALYST.

(Learned from Pastor Mark Tusoy’s message during Kids Teacher’s Summit- Febuary 2010)

CATALYST

A catalyst is a substance that can cause a change in the rate of a chemical reaction without itself being consumed in the reaction (definition taken from YAHOO! EDUCATION ENCYCLOPEDIA). Basically, catalyst can be in a form of an enzyme or chemical depending on the rate of reaction you wanted to achieve. Moreover, it is on a state wherein its importance is on paramount to achieve a better reaction. Before certain reaction occurs, it undergoes several check points. The catalyst must be of good condition, it should me measured precisely, it should be used on the right chemical and perfect timing should be keenly observed hence, producing the desired aftermath.

Likewise, being a kids teacher or to any ministry we dwell in we have to have a catalyst. Someone who could influence others, somewhere in between together, a leader, change agent hence changes occurs from within. A change that is inevitable upon building an indispensable relationship. Like in every chemical reaction, a catalyst must know how to thrive a driving force of change in someone’s heart. The mere fact of being present can change somebody’s life, more so change of heart will be of the highest possibility to happen. Say, when a kid sees you do a simple task with high regards, somehow you are helping to develop that kid’s judgment about responsibility. An edict of being responsible regardless of the weight of the task assigned. You become a catalyst because you’ve made an impact even without doing any modification of yourself. It is as simple as influencing kids or someone within or outside your circle without changing more of you but more of them. Another instance is the words that come out from your mouth. If you speak a daily those of encouragement as if it is part of your system, you are helping that individual to boost his or her confidence all the more you are building a character out of the encouragement that you solely speak.

There are many ways on how you can act as a catalyst. It’s a matter of how you to a great extent grow with your walk with GOD because it is vital that you yourself are filled with God’s love and word. Hence without this you cannot be a good catalyst thus the fruits you will bear will be easily shed off. A good catalyst neither easily shaken nor falters to sin but has a well-founded relationship with the Lord. So, how is your relationship with God lately? Are you a catalyst by nature? I am pretty sure you are. Just continue to be a blessing indeed you will be blessed. 

I'M FLYING.

I really wanted to fly. I dreamt of flying as high as how the eagle soars, it is amazing indeed! Feeling the breeze touching my face, gentle stroke of the clouds upon my body and the feeling of freedom as if everything is so light, so supple, feel just fine. Wings are made for birds to flap it and be able to fly, however, it seems that they are so at ease but I can see the struggle beneath the flapping of their wings. It might be easy for us to see them flying but the truth is they have to keep flapping their wings to be able to fly and if they stop it’s like a peculiar self-assassination, it is a struggle yet for us it is amazing how they soar up high. So, wings are design for birds to fly, while feet are to man for walking. But, can a man fly using his wings? Does a man have wings?

Yes. Man can fly. But how, we don’t have wings? You might ask. But the truth of the matter is we do have wings if you just believe it. We might not be like seraphs that have six wings but we do have wings. I’ve read a book written by Joey Bonifacio ‘THE PROMISE NO ONE WANTS’, it depicts God’s faithfulness and divine favors- his promises and how it is being fulfilled. However, there are certain promises that once in a blue moon we claim- it is the fulfillment of our own written destiny. If we only put our utmost trust on him, and vowing ‘thy will be done’ then acceptance and rejoicing heart will be experienced. This book helped me to understand this perspective and not being scared to see the key for my door to be open. Definitely, it will not be easy but I believe it will be an incredible race. I would not go into details, or else I’ll spoil the meaty part but I guarantee you it is really a must to read this book. Anyway, going back with my flying avenue, one of the book’s content was ‘the other wing’. I was awestruck, the other wing? Interesting! (At the back of my mind, I knew it, I can fly!) Alright, you’ve got me what are the other wings? He mentioned there that the first wing was the grace of God. True enough, we cannot fly without it. By grace we have been saved not by works of man. The grace of God resembles one of the wings, without it, it is impossible to fly because we are captives by an impounding hand. Once we are freed hence comes the second wing – the fear of God. Wisdom draws from having the fear of God hence the light will shine on your way to everlasting peace, love and happiness. And as you shun evil, understanding from within will be able to pull you off from the worldly standpoint that put shackles on your feet thus the tougher it gets to take wing.

In light of the flying avenue I’ve mentioned, we can fly and soar high if we are free. We are like birds that are on an impounding hand but by the grace of our Father, we are freed from the multitude of sins. We gained the freedom and restoration of our soul, body and mind. And with these two wings we can be able to pull off from the worldly ground and fly high, higher than any aircraft. However, the wings should work hand-in-hand. Using one wing will make you unstable and easily shaken but with these two wings steadfast flights will be dandy. So who says you can’t fly on your own? Check your heart (your relationship with God) if the gear (Grace from our Lord and fear of the Lord) is absolute and then get ready to take off.

SKYSCRAPERS.

Planning begins when someone sees the shadow of success. One invests so much time on planning from the top to the bottom part of directory plus the necessary efforts and adjustments just to make sure it will run pretty smoothly and satisfying as much as possible. Some, sacrificed a lot – manpower, money, machines, even methods while the others, rely on whatever strengths they have without noticing they are stagnant, the same from the very beginning. Some manage to build and stay on paramount view while the others poignantly packing their things and the blue print remained as blue print. However, planning things out are not made so easy, it takes a lot of pens and papers before the final ink and paper will come to pass.

The plans and preparation on building a skyscraper shows a sort of resemblance on how life must be planned out. Before a skyscraper is constructed, a series of paradigms and blue prints are presented by great work of hands and minds. Critiques and amendments are very much anticipated until both parties agreed on the architecture and everything related to it. In relation to life, indeed we choose to direct ourselves on planning for our existence, how are we going to live our life to the fullest. However, our life was perfectly planned by only one hand and we need not to worry about our tomorrow because everything will happen according to plan. We need not to defy the hand and mind that made the plan. What we need to do is to trust to the one who planned our life.

Since, the skyscraper, from the name itself, is soaring high. It needs to be founded on great foundations. It needs to be constructed on a firm land, with stable, solid and unyielding materials so that when an adversity strikes it will not fall down and come into ruin. Like our life, we need to have a firm foundation. We must be planted on a land wherein we can grow stable and firm that whatever happens we can stay still while clinging on the one who planned our life.

GOD planned our lives the way he wanted us to live it. He sets paradigm shifts not to make our lives boring. He made it well rounded and perfect for us to enjoy our lives. However, we defy his plan and make ours instead because we are deceive with the worldly offers on making our life easy thus we tend to give in and at the end, we find ourselves sinful and wretched. Sadly, we still continue to commit our plans, rely and trust only to ourselves. But unlike skyscrapers, there is one thing we can do that they can’t – bend. If we humble ourselves and acknowledge that we have lead our life astray, we are sinners and believe with all our heart, mind and strength that he is LORD, he will always be willing to do revisions of our lives and forget the past for we have come as a new creations. He will always give his grace that no one can fathom. Remember, apart from him we can do nothing. Trust and rely not on our own strength but to GOD our FATHER and surrender the desires of our hearts only to him. Bear in mind that skyscrapers are made stiff to remain soaring high while we are made to soar high but bends when we go astray.
